Essentially the same unit, but the 890 comes with ONE dual mode virtual wall/zone barrier combo unit, and the 805 comes with TWO dual mode virtual wall/zone units and an extra filter, which is an extra $35 value you don't get with the 890. Frankly unless you need app control, the 805 is a better deal.

Unless I'm incorrect, the 805 does not have smart home capabilities, such as app control, Google Home integration, and Amazon Alexa integration.

You're right, no app control, but you can still do scheduling on the unit. And, actually, the wall units on the Costco 805 are the dual mode wall/zone units, so the extra one is a $35 value right there. Fixed the original post to reflect that.

Do these bump into the walls/baseboards to navigate or have they improved from that?

Starting to do my research & the one thing I hated when I went over to my people's house & hearing something bumping around upstairs & it turned out to be a robovac.

You have to get to the 9xx series to eliminate bumping. However the 8xx series use a sensor to slow down as they approach barriers so they don't slam into them like the 7xx and below roombas used to.

805 at Costco is the best deal on an 8xx, UNLESS you NEED to control it with your phone because the 805 only has scheduling on the unit, not on your phone.
