So just because these have more wattage so more power. Would these sound better than my JBL flip 3 which is only 16 watts vs 25 watts from Anker. Or would the anker just be louder?

Not sure, I know that the JBL Flip 3 is capable of 90 decibels but tends to have distortion at that level l. The Anker Soundcore Boost performs at pretty much the same levels with the same issue at 90 decibels which is supposedly it's max according to reviews of both speakers. I could not find any decibel ratings for the Anker soundcore Pro.

I'm assuming these have to make up for it's lower quality by having more wattage then. And the JBL being of higher quality presumably makes use of what the 25w anker can do at lower 16 watts.

Perhaps, I guess it all boils down to the quality of the amplifier, the drivers, and the ohm rating of the speakers vs. the ohm output of the amplifier.

There are many reports on Amazon of these overheating and releasing smoke. I returned mine to avoid the risk of a fire.

I purchased this a couple weeks ago as a present for my in laws, for about the same price. Of course I wanted to make sure it worked and was charged up and ready for Christmas morning so I had to try it out. I must say I was very disappointed in the sound quality and have subsequently returned it to Amazon. The build quality and smallish size were nice, but the sound quality had a very narrow loudness sweet spot (a.k.a) it didn't sound good at low volumes and also sounded bad at high volume. It has decent bass for a small speaker, but the bass also seems to overpower the mids and highs at both low and high volumes. I personally think my JBL flip has a much better all around sound (albeit not as much bass) and seems like it gets almost as loud and also sounds better at more volume graduations than this Anker soundcore pro does.

I purchased the archeer a320 Bluetooth speaker as a replacement for a couple bucks less, and personally feel it's a better sounding speaker at this price point than the soundcore pro. The Archeer is physically a bigger speaker than the soundcore pro and it also suffers from being a little on the bass heavy side, but overall it gets louder, and sounds better at all volume levels than the Anker. My opinion is that the supposed $100 original price point of this Anker soundcore pro is absolutely absurd, this is a decent Bluetooth speaker at $30 but spend more than that and I think there are better options out there.

The anker fan boys will not believe you unfortunately. There is a reason the price has fallen drastically on this model.

Looking at the manual on Anker's site the 20 watt speaker is actually 10w x 2, so expect only 12.5w x 2 for this 25 watt speaker.
