Great price for this. I've only seen this low of a price during Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Yup, lowest I've seen for a non refurb too. I drove 30m to get this when it was a treasure truck deal for $298 with some freebies, so this is basically as good as it gets.

If you're a Sam's Club member, I believe they're still selling new 5300s for $280 plus tax.

Agree is this is a great deal! Also I don't think Vitamix sells refurbs, but reconditioned where they are primarily customer returns. That's at least how it was when I worked there. Great family run company.

Didn't know it was a family run business, makes me feel better about getting one. I got the 750 reconditioned with 7 year warranty for like 325ish and I love it. Way way better for green smoothies than a blendtec, this thing left no trace of chia or flax seeds, perfectly smooth.

You have not used it, if you had you would know the difference; the ninja doesn't even come close. I bought a Vitamix like 4 years ago, like around $400, one of the best purchased I have ever made.
We have a ninja for making things on smaller amounts for the kids in a hurry, but you get what you pay for.

Is this only for smoothies? The ones I see in Costco are shorter and wider jars. This looks like tall and thin

I use mine everyday for making smoothies but have also used it to make soup, salad dressing and sauces, frozen sorbet, salsa, and even grind wheat berries for flour. Mine also came with a 350 page cookbook. Not sure if they still do that or not.
