Solid-color Pendleton Washable Wool Blankets are 50% off at Lands End with code SEASON / pin 4319 and free shipping.

Full - $100
Queen - $115
King - $130
Available in Dark Camel, Cream, Navy Blue, and Charcoal.

This is a really great quality wool blanket, made in America from 100% virgin wool.
It's washable (use Woolite) - dry cleaning not necessary.
It's a nice warm blanket but still breathable.

This is a great price for a blanket of this quality that will last a lifetime.

So, most of my covers get ripped in the washer or dryer these days due to medium spin and horrible designs.

Are these more resistant to this type of wear (not life long....) and how is shrinkage? Seems more expensive than an on-sale down that should be heavier?

Also, I saw this and I would be curious if the shrinkage stops after a single warm wash? Everything gets washed warm no matter what. Below grabbed from the reviews.

When washed shrinking 3" length and 3" width but it's clean
When washed it shrieked 3" length & 3" width,but it's clean ! and dosen't smell as much!

Thanks!

We bought two of these last time they were this price ( Dec 2011 ! ), they are holding up really well. We use them with a flat top sheet underneath in the summer months and with two top sheets and a cotton blanket under it in the winter months.

The benefit to the wool is it really retains warmth but still breathes, so you don't get sweaty under it at all even in the summer months. They're really the perfect weight/thickness for using all year round - not as thick and heavy as a Hudson Bay blanket, so they're great for layering.

Used this way with a sheet under they don't really get dirty, we wash every couple months using woolite on the gentle cycle. One of them shrank about 1-2" length and width on the first wash/dry (electric dryer on low heat), the other one we decided to hang dry and so it didn't shrink at all. We hang dry both of them now. There's virtually no pilling or fuzz lost from them after 6 years so we've definitely gotten our money's worth from these blankets. If you take care of them you should be able to keep them almost forever.
