You don't. Charger pad gets connected to micro USB cable for power. Qi charging outputs @5W. This one claims @7.5W. The QuickCharge power adapter will allow higher wattage (higher voltage and ampage) to go into the pad and then to your QC device.

Seems like a decent deal for this particular Qi charger. Previous best price I've seen previously was $39 and that didn't include 2 lifetime warranty lightning cables.

Let me clarify. How do you get the free USB c cables? I ordered one with the free lighting cables, would like to order a second one with Android cables

Why the no love on this deal? It comes with the wall charger that most qi pads require separate purchase. You also get free charging cables when you use promo code

I am attempting to buy a Qi charger to gift someone who just purchased an Apple iPhone 8 Plus. 5w is all I need, right? Even at 7.5w and 10w, the Qi charger wouldn't charge the phone any faster, correct?

I have been charging Android phones wirelessly on and off for over half a decade, but I haven't had time to read up on all of the new iPhone tech.

Thanks,
Tofu Vic

Apparently iPhone pushed a new OS update that allows the phone to charge at 7.5w

I have this and have no idea if it's doing 7.5w. Still blinks red. Apparently it does green for Android. I have the X. I just thought it was the best for before bed just lay it on pad.

See screenshot. I don't see an option for Type-C cables. OP might be able to respond to your question.

The anker qi quick charger is $19 and works great. I don't understand why this one is almost 2x

There are 4+ star reviewed, Fakespot B or better, generic wireless fast chargers on Amazon for less than $20.

Use your original power adapter because it doesn't come with one.
