The sales haven't been the same since the format changed but still look forward to seeing what/if any games of interest are heavily discounted.

It'll never return due to the new refund policy. People would just buy, wait for a great price, refund the purchase and buy again at the cheaper price.

Steam sales have been a bit bunk for a while now. Years. Their sales prices hardly compete with g2a's regular pricing. I will be looking just the same lol

Interesting that the sale on GTA V ends whenever the Winter sale starts. I just picked it up in case it's not part of the winter sale. Hoping for a good deal on Sniper Elite 4 Deluxe and Nier Automata

Valid point. They could just institute a 'No refunds during the sale' policy (and if they did so, they would need to be EXPLICITLY clear about it so there can be no confusion caused by them) to counter such behavior, but such things may not go over well. I'd be ok with it, but I'm not a silly rabbit.

Yep. In most cases the price on G2A or CDKeys is better; However, there are a ton of indie games on Steam that aren't available elsewhere, so I'll definitely be checking it out.

I seem to recall they put refunds in place for everyone because they were required in one region or another, so they probably wouldn't be able to pull them altogether.

I think what they could do is institute a policy that if you buy/refund a game during a sale, you can't buy it again during the same sale. Granted all that would do is get people to wait until the last day to buy everything they want anyway (unless of course it goes on a flash sale first)

I expected the front page to update at 1PM but Steam DB shows a large queue buildup of updates which means the sale prices are being rolled out on Steam
