Harbor Freight Recall Trailer Tires

I know this is not a deal, but I was not sure where is the best place to post it.
None of the sub-forums seemed right. Therefore, MODs, please move it to the most appropriate location.

I learnt a few days ago (by accident, actually) that Harbor Freight will be recalling all Innova Ultra Runner utility trailer tires - basically it applies to all trailer and tires that were for sale.
According to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard statement, the tires may disintegrate as they are too weak for the purpose.
It applies to over 170'000 trailers.

HF supposed to be contacting consumers.

Some older recall, from 2016, talks about over 350k trailers with faulty lights.

PDFs attached.

I personally happen to have the 4'x8' folding trailer that would be under both recalls...

EDIT.
I just discovered that NONE of the trailers is available for purchase anymore.
In search none would show up.

So something else might be going on, or it is simply the beginning of recall for the tires.

Here is more info.

Link from HFT to the recall information.

You need to bring the Tire/WHEEL assembly, not the tire itself (unless you really want to).
Only trailers sold between certain dates are affected - check your purchase date.

As for lights.
Submit form and get a replacement in mail. No in store pickup for it.

Received my recall notice a week ago and already exchanged and installed my new tires. Lights had already been done, they sent led ones.

You see, I have not gotten any notice (nor lights nor tires).
I actually got installed LEDs myself as the original ones were leaking.
As for tires, they look OK to me. No separation. No damage.
And they saw highway, as fast at 75 mph in places (most of the time 60 or below) for like 80 miles a trip for several trips, plus over 1500 lb loads on a few short trips (gravel, mulch, and such).

Did you have to remove the tire from the wheel?

The trailers were removed from the website a few months ago. When I asked in the store, they mentioned it was due to some of the tires not meeting DOT standards.

I received my notice last week. I only have one tire that is impacted by the recall. The other two were purchased separately off of the shelf from HF, one as a spare and the other as a replacement. The replacement was a swap for a bad tire in the trailer kit when I purchased the trailer kit new. IIRC the (2) off the shelf tires were not impacted by the recall and are a different brand (maybe King Tire).
I also, had the question about the tire recall and whether it was necessary to have the tires unmounted from the wheel for the recall. I was told that the recall notice was poorly worded and that the recall is for the entire tire and wheel assembly. In other words, take the old wheel/tire off the trailer, take it into HF and swap it for another tire/wheel assembly.

Yes. You have to remove, return and reinstall the tires yourself.

Nope.
According to the recall, I just read it on HFT site, you bring the wheel and get replacement.

You will need to remove the affected tires from your trailer. Bring the tire/wheel assembly to an HFT store for replacement. You will then need to install the replacement tire/wheel assembly on your trailer.

So that's why the trailers were pulled from the site. Was looking for new tires for my trailer a while back.

Wound up buying some off of Ebay.

*edit* just found out my lights are under recall

How big of a PITA is it to get replacements?

My mailer says you have to remove the tires. Bunch of BS. I can do it but not going to. But if you can bring wheel then ok. So I can get new lights also?

BS indeed.
I guess you could. I am not sure, though, what lights the trailer has as mine did not have any sticker on them,

Not sure.
It seems you request a label and ship lights to them to receive replacement within 60 days...
Does it mean I must remove the old one first and ship them to HFT? Not so clear about it.

Could be done in winter time, when I do not anticipate to pull the trailer.

I did this. OP put the light recall submission form in his post. All you have to do is fill out the pdf and e-mail it to the e-mail address provided. Easy peasy. Mine came in 3-4 weeks without a single reply from HF.
