FP price, as long as you actually need multiples. We do, so this is perfect. Thumbs up!

Best Buy has the WD Easystore USB3 8tb which has a wd red nas drive inside for only $149

It might also be worth considering that deal if you don't mind an external drive or taking it apart and voiding the warranty to use as an internal drive.
You could even sell the casing and power supply for $20 ish on ebay.

Can you use a different hard drive in the case if you remove the WD hard drive?

Huh? I'm pretty sure he was asking about the person who said you could pull an internal from an external case.

In response, YES, the case can then be used for any drive you want. That is why people sell them on ebay

No and Best Buy will check to make sure you're giving them the correct sized drive. I've alerted Corporate to let them know that people are doing this.
You've written to let them know that people are pulling the drives from external drives that they sell to use for other purposes after the consumer has bought them? I can't say that they'd care. Ha!

I think you've misinterpreted here and assumed that people are pulling the drive, putting a smaller/older drive back into the WD external casing, and returning it. I've not heard of anyone doing this. What he asked is simply if you could use another drive in the case after you've pulled the 8TB drive. How does that constitute anything wrong?

Big assumption here...
