Some people may wonder why you would pay for an app like this. Don't be one of those people. If you are someone that does regular grocery shopping and meal planning, this app is a huge time saver. You can easily import your own recipes and recipes from almost every cooking website. Choose your meals for the week and it will create a custom shopping list that you can adjust to fit your grocery store's layout. Free syncing across all of your devices and includes family iOS sharing so that you don't need to buy a copy for both you and your spouse/partner. The iPad and iPhone app are universal, so a single purchase covers both devices. It's a no brainer purchase for only a few bucks.

Love the app, just not sure the upgrade warranted a new app for purchase.

It's only $3 so I'll probably buy it just to support the developer.

No - it is a universal app for the iPad and iPhone -- but you will have to buy the MAC Version for $14 (if you want to)
I have been eyeing this app for a while. I finally pulled the trigger today. Will give an updated review once I start using it.

They are a two-person development team and have said that their focus for 2018 is revamping the android app.

I have had this for years and do use it to store specific recipes. Not sure why I need to pay another $3 for something I already own...

If you have the old Paprika app, you can continue to use it and nothing will change. Syncing still works like normal. You can't really expect to have free updates forever and free cloud syncing. The original v1/2 iOS app has been out for at least six years and has offered free updates that whole time. At some point it seems fair for developers to be able to get a new set of funding for continued development.

I've been a Paprika user for years, just learned of Copy Me That. I tried Pepperplate a couple of years back but went back to Paprika.

So is Paprika still the best for iOS/macOS? I already purchased the new iOS version, but not sure I want to pay for the macOS version since I don't really use it that often on my Mac.

Thoughts?

Can you enter in your own recipes or can they only be imported from the web?

You can enter your own, import/save from the web, and you can also send/receive recipe files from others.

I love this thing for the way it syncs up recipes/meal plans with your grocery list. But in the last year I've come to love it even more for the ability to share recipes via email or files to other members of my family. We're considering putting all of our family recipes on to this.

Thanks for the info. Anyway to backup your recipes locally without using the cloud?
