That's actually quite a good price, Volta or not. Buy now, sell 1080 when Volta comes...profit

That cougar case is actually pretty damn good for the price when purchased by itself and all parts seem to be quality. If I were to complain, I'd say you probably need speedier RAM for overclocking that 1700x

Isn't your time worth more than $70?

Yeah, but that isn't the point. For gaming PCs, It's all about the components and how you assemble them. Buying one off the shelf is for casuals Smilie
Actually You kinda missed the point, this is a gaming rig built by a company that uses some(if not most) name brand components. So it boils down to initial support, volume discounts and the ability to warrant off the shelf (third party included) that becomes the overriding calculus in your decision.

Merry Christmas!

And the case is not $50, it is near $90. If you choose components which are cheaper than this build then that is not really a proper comparison,

Almost every price you listed is at least 20% cheaper than anything out there.
You didn't even list the OS.

Are you searching Newegg or slickdeals because for most of those I went by the previous deal, which is a totally empirical way to go about it.

Good point about the OS. There are still ways to get Win10 for free but if you're buying it outright then that'd put you at about the breaking even point.

There's also 5% cb right now at Amazon, multiple ways. Other guy forgot OS and also compared shopping for a year to right now. This is a Slickdeal for the rig.
