Sigma 24-35 f/2 is the only thing that comes close right now.

For updating firmware and for tuning the focus on the lens. I read that the lenses sometimes have issues with focusing on the newest Canon cameras.

I am just getting into photography. I mainly take photos of my baby inside. How worried should I be that it has to optical stabilization?

That these focal lengths you don't really need IS if you have a steady hand.

This is f1.8, you should be able to keep a fast shutter and low ISO so your pics will be good

Is it a one time adjustment for a new camera? Or this is for on going maintenance?

very interested in the lens but don't remember I need to adjust any Canon Nikon Sony lens......

Since you are just getting into photography and I don't know what kind of camera and lenses you have, I'd recommend a fast prime lens if you don't have one.

For baby pictures inside, a 50mm (for full frame) or 35mm (for aps-c) would give you a very natural view point, either are 1.8 (or faster) and both typically are very sharp lenses and about as affordable as you can get outside a kit lens.

Third review, the buyer said no

Edit: this is for "Designed for APS-C-Sized Sensors" which means not for mirrorless alpha cameras. You'd need a adapter to use on a a6500
