Got one, hoping it's on par with the 60ks8000 from last year

I read a number of reviews on that topic, you may want to read this Reddit thread cause there are some key differences: https://www.reddit.com/r/4kTV/com...or_mu8000/. But for the price I'm quite pleased, I had bought the Sony 65" X850E from Amazon during Black Friday which I love the picture quality on but the Android TV integration is just too buggy and sluggish for my taste. Time to return it for this deal!

Hmm Very tempted. I got the Sony 900e a couple weeks ago but don't really like the user interface. Thinking about returning that and ordering this. Thoughts anyone?

It is no where close. The Q7 is the KS equivalent

I had gotten the 850e and I don't mind the interface, I like that AndroidTV is built in. I just hate the fact that's it's so buggy and slow, wish they had added more processing power.

They are all buggy compared to the TCL sets with Roku. Invest in an after market box to get the best of both worlds.

Amazon killed me this year by not putting the TCL 607 on sale, and TCL killed me by cancelling the 65" model. I have a bit of a fear that given the rave reviews and compliments on what a great deal the TV is, the 2018 successor will have worse specs and/or a significantly higher price than the killer 605/607.

Debating whether to snag a 605 for $599 from Best Buy before they disappear.

I bought a 55S405 for that exact reason, knowing I can return it if/when the 607 goes on sale. I've been so impressed with it, I'm probably going to keep it. There is zero issue with brightness, and the off axis is better with certain settings. Best $315 I've spent in some time. Roku is killer. I've been a Kodi/Fire TV user with no complaints. But this is a big step up.

Just ordered one since my kid broke the screen of the MU6290 I bought around BF (yeah of this year and yeah I'm still super pissed).

If your employer does not participate in EPP try using your student email with myunidays.com. I got mine this way,

The warranty is expensive. Can I skip it and buy square trade on amazon or even from Costco?

If you purchased your MU6290 with a credit card, some of them provide accidental damage coverage protection within 30-90 days of purchase.
