Obviously everything inside will be cheap, it's a cheap set. Fine for many people who will need a tool maybe once or twice a year and it doesn't make sense to buy a quality one. Drill won't have enough torque to bore a hole, but will work great to drill out some drywall for an anchor, hand tools will be fiddly and not hold up to freeing rusted on fasteners but perfect for adjusting the tension on a tv wall mount, etc. Don't pass on this because tool snobs say it's not the best stuff, just know the limitations and don't buy it as a gift for your uncle that works a trade.

The only "value" in kits like these is the one-stop shop aspect for people who rarely frequent a hardware store. I'd get it for a first-time apartment dweller, who might use half the items once or twice and be satisfied (before something breaks, most likely).

Just note that the quality of the drill can't be all that great if they're willing to sell it for $70 and include the accessories and hand tools.

There have been deals on better quality drills posted recently and the other items they include are likely no better than what you'd find at Harbor Freight (and often for free with coupon [hfqpdb.com]).

This is meh, but not terrible for an emergency set to leave at a girl friends place or something. Or of you don't really do a lot of DIY and need to hang a few pictures.

Saw this 83pc set at BJ's for $39.99. I passed but my friend bought one but hasn't used it yet so I can't vouch for quality. http://www.bjs.com/black--decker-...0000601396

My brother in law has had this drill for a few years and an eerily similar small set of cheap tools that he's collected over the last few years that he's been a homeowner. It's a good assortment for anyone for whom DIY is a 'chore'.
