Good price as it's the disc version - the digital download/Steam edition only allows you to run one instance, while the disc version you can run as many as you want. Multiple instances are helpful for those who do a lot of editing.

Dropped in price a fair bit.

FWIW - Already posted on SD is a humble bundle for $20 which includes Vegas 14 Pro Edit. Yes it is previous version and first Magix continuation version after being sold by Sony but it is a way to play around with a full version download and it looks like it is NOT a steam version like the Clickteam Fusion 2.5 for $1 a week ago.

I am newbie to video editing and have never done any. The only videos I plan to edit are personal ones and perhaps a youtube down the line, someday. Is Vegas 14 worth $20?

I see that there are free alternatives; Shotcut, Davinci and Hitfilm. Perhaps I should get my feet wet with the free versions, before paying $20 for the humble bundle?

Humble Bundle looks great! Can you load on multiple devices?

Yeah, I'd recommend start with an easier, less complicated software. VEGAS Pro is HUGE. I used http://www.makeyoutubevideo.com/download.html for a bunch of video editing for my dj gigs. It was easy to learn and use. I also have downloaded VSDC Free Video Editor, but that has a steeper learning curve.
