Not really. This 8th was released by pressure of AMD, and clearly Intel didn't prepare for this at all, as you see the price was ridiculously high, at least not reasonable at all. The next gen has to be an adequate release.

This is wrong and makes no sense. When Skylake was released, it was just as ridiculously overpriced for months until supply caught up to demand. Furthermore, the only effect AMD had on this release was to cause Intel to move it up 2-3 months. Coffee Lake was going to be released regardless of what AMD did or didn't do.

You can always "wait a few months" for the next release - at some point, you need to pull he trigger.

ninth gen will have more cores and better supported (wrt upgrade) motherboard. 8th gen motherboard are not going to be supported anymore after 9th gen is released.
And 10th gen will have less cores but be a bit more powerful as 9th gen due to super hyper threading AAAANNNNNDDDDDD will use less power to boot.

Someone will chime in on 11th gen and why i am completely wrong. I don't feel bad because the 12th gen poster will get them good Big Grin.

We all lose to the poster who has a time machine and used it right before the sun went out Frown.
