i know this headset is 2yrs old or so. is it still worth to get these? most reviews I read are old and back then it was about $300+. some reviews said arctis 7 mic is MUCH clearer than these P800s. any input ?

If you want a wireless system that works with all consoles and PC then there is nothing like this out there.

I have owned it for years and though I wish the Mic quality was better, everything else is great. I use it for Ps4 and PC

For what it's worth, the successor to the Siberia 800 series (formerly H Wireless) has recently passed through the FCC: https://fccid.io/ZHK-HS00014. The "Arctis Pro Wireless" looks to be the Arctis 7 headset and mic -- but with Bluetooth added, and the fancy base station/transmitter box from 800 series.

One thing I noticed in the user manual (https://fccid.io/ZHK-HS00014/User...al-3658570) is that they don't appear to include the Dolby Headphone processing that the Siberia 800 series had (note the lack of the Double-D Dolby symbol in the graphics on page 22). Instead, it looks like Steelseries is going with their own proprietary surround sound processing -- which avoids Dolby licensing fees but is probably not as good. Just like with the Arctis 7, DTS Headphone:X is available via PC only because it's software-based.

However, with the Bluetooth capability, these should allow for the mixing of game and chat audio from the Nintendo Switch in docked mode (stereo game audio via optical out from TV, and game chat via Bluetooth from Nintendo's phone-based chat app).

Does this have speaker passthrough? I see it has aux out, which I think would work to send audio to a pair of speakers, but I want to make sure. My goal is to have an easy time switching between these headphones and my speakers with a press of a button. Yes, I know about Audio Switcher.. but my onboard audio is.. lacking..

I bought this for $250 2 years ago. It's a fantastic wireless headset. The sound quality is awesome. Like someone said before the mic quality could be better. But for $150 you'd be hard pressed to find a better option. I use mine for PS4.

I got mine (800x) last year for $170... Well worth it. It's great on the Xbox one. Great sound!

I just bought the Arctis 7 yesterday. Is this worth it over the Arctis? Same price I got the Arctis

They use the same headphone drivers so probably not unless you need to use the base station and swappable battery. Or if your head is too big for the arctis7 like mine.

I don't like the audio quality of the arctis7, so I'd go for something else.
