eShop digital download code is delivered in few minutes. Select USD as currency and EU as country/region (Top right). Use paypal for payments and try to use a card that does not charge foreign transaction fee. EU id is needed for redeeming the code. But, you'll be downloading the eu version. Correct?

I know, region free. But for splatoon it would mean playing in the european splatfest.

No. If you launch the game with USA id you will be playing in USA splatfest. In other words it becomes the game downloaded from US eShop when launched with USA user account.

I don't have a physical copy of Splatoon 2 but the digital one bought from the gamesrocket via eu id. It is my understanding that region depends on the id from which the game is launched also the location from where the game is played at.

Except you have to spend $30 to be a Gamer club
And
Not everyone wants a physical game card.

If you think about it the first $150 worth of new game purchases with GCU are essentially at full price (before you break even on the cost of the membership) unless it also stacked with a Best Buy sale.

GCU is really great BUT it does limit you to physical copies for the most part (I think PUBG on xbox was the first time I've ever been able to use it for something I DL'd digitally on a console and that's just because they were selling a physical box with a code inside)

It also applies toward game related things like amiibo

So many Switch games are things I would just want to be able to pull up instantly without worrying about swapping carts. Mario Kart, Ultra Street Fighter, etc

I just want to clarify that first click on the link will show price in euro. One has to select usd form upper right to pay in usd. And it not like euro to usd conversion. It is a good deal for digital downloads. Esp. in high sales tax states like California.

If I already have zelda (physical) and xenoblade (digital) under my US account, can I buy the expansion packs under an EU account and have them still work with my US main games?

Why the hate for this? Should be more comments for all the downvotes. Region-locking issues? Those seemed to be debunked earlier in the thread. So what then?
