Laptop video card issue

issue fixed!
So I think I messed up and ordered the wrong laptop for my daughter for Christmas.

I bought an Hp Envy x360 with a Radeon Vega 8 card
http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-...-1za07av-1

But when I install it I get a message that says "Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system. Please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed. "
The game says it takes a video card of NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better.
SO am I doing something wrong or do I just need to return it to HP and get a different one?

The APU built into that notebook performs about the same as an AMD RX 460. It meets the minimum specifications for Sims 4 so it should work. Try installing updated AMD drivers and see if it will launch the game. https://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Someone also took the time to test just about every card out their with Sims 4

The entire "R" series of AMD APU's is listed (except for the 8, which you have).

Probably a driver issue or Sims 4 needs an update to support it.

I would recommend going to make an account on the sims forum and talking there. It's an older game and looks like there are compatibility issues with newer cards. The enthusiasts are probably the most likely to have work arounds.
