Not showing any stock in Illinois...since it can't be bought online they probably never had it in store to begin with.

They're not allowing online reservations today for their day after Christmas sale, so they removed online stock numbers. My local store had a whole shelf of them. As well as the SJ8570s for $1599.99

Actually, nuke "Fry's" is more like it! 😒 I've asked them countless times over the years to open a central FL location. They never did, bunch of tards!

There is a lot more that goes into a store expanding into a town than you know, I'm guessing

Both the TV in the OP and the one you mention get an average review on rtings. Not the best but they'll do if you need the 75" size

Very funny, I've actually helped open and have been a part of the process for a number of years. I no longer work for that company and haven't for years. My best advice, be cautious and think twice about working for millionaire family members, LOL.

If you want I can go down a laundry list of the majority of things involved with opening a retail chain store. No it's not as difficult as you make it out to be, yes there's work involved that's for damn sure. I'll bet the Frys owners are wealthier then my very well off millionaire relative I used to work for. The way I have seen things done are to purchase the location. Gut the store, have a crew prep the interior over the course of a month or so. Change the signage on the front of the store and by the street if there is some sort of pole sign or what have you. Things will move along depending on how many Workforce employees you hire and how quickly they adapt. That's just the tip of the iceberg of course there's more to do behind the scenes. Once the 18 wheelers have brought in some merchandise and the crew has filled up the store. You've already started your grand opening ad campaign in the local papers, social media, email campaigns TV commercials a few weeks prior... again there's still more that I haven't mentioned that is being done behind the scenes. For instance setting up the surveillance system throughout the store cameras, alarm system. Making sure the AC is functioning correctly, having the DBA already set up. So yes there's a lot involved, it's not like they haven't done this before. And of course I'm not mentioning everything in the right order I'm just skimming it off the top of my mind.

CompUSA, TigerDirect and Office Max are gone. Now if anyone is to say that Fry's is suffering and not doing very well please step forward. If that's the case then opening a store in Central Florida would make no sense at all. I have witnessed and have also been a part of closing down a location. I felt horrible for the crew that worked in that store since I'm related to the owner. They we're very nice people including the manager. I was the one that was sent to empty the store out with a big 24 foot Penske truck and multiple visits. I wonder if they fear competition like Best Buy? Anyway over the years multiple locations have opened and in other locations have closed. The company did not go under because of failed attempts. It seems as though there is a fear about Florida. Even if they were to open a store and it closed five to ten years later, that wouldn't jeopardize the entire company. Unless they were in financial distress to begin with.
