Shillanigans folks.
DON'T think of this as a surge protector!

Quoted from the Q&A on Amazon:

What is the joule rating (of) this 5 outlets holsem surge protector?
Answer: Thanks for your question. The surge energy of our HOLSEM X5 power strip is 600J.

Shillanigans is a hybrid of shill and shenanigans.
Threads posted and supporting posts to help make crap popular by votes and comments, and therefore seem like a great deal.

Oh I got the shillanigans thing. I was talking about the Q&A about the Joule rating. I didn't know if that was BS or just really bad.

600 joules is good if you're plugging in a lamp and a phone charger or something. Definitely not enough for your tv/gaming console/other home entertaining devices

You are crazy if you would trust your phone to this crap. No reason to use a surge protector for a lamp. This is not worth using as a surge protector. End of story. Use as an outlet multiplier if you like for your lamps. it will not protect your lamps from a surge either.
