Why is this being down voted? This is an awesome set. They have always been plastic cases in the past. This one is metal. Pretty badass.

I was kinda wondering the same. Typically something that's $200 off the original isn't a bad thing. However, I digress!

Kobalt is notoriously known for inflated original pricing. (Craftsman does this too.) So 33% off, in this case, is not really a great deal, especially compared to other, similar sets.
I think Kobalt stuff needs to be at least 50% off, closer to 75% off, for it to be deal. IMO.

A quick look at the 227 pc Kobalt set for example, is only $99. It has most of the same tools. Its missing impact sockets and wrenches and few other things and of course the metal tool box, but its $300 cheaper than your posted deal. That's a lot. Your posted deal is definitely a nice, all in one package, but its not $400 nice given the alternatives.
That's my opinion and I could be totally wrong.. I did NOT down vote this deal.....just sayin'.

Good to know. I can never tell with these all in one sets because like most people I've pieced together my collection of tools.

Kobalt are cheap tools made in Taiwan or China. Just like Sears they quit having them made in the USA.

The foam inserts are nice, but not so nice when you want to add some more tools.

Are the sockets hex or the annoying "combination" type that strip heads?
