NO ROOT for US992.

Full root with working root apps, xposed, root shell etc is currently only available for bootloader-unlocked devices (EU H850, RS988 and H830).

Do believe so, according to seller Smilie Under item description, first bullet point reads: "Under LG Warranty". Hope this helps!

The G5 is a really good phone. had mine for 4 months and then upgraded to a V20 for the bigger screen and quad DAC. But still, I'd take this over an S6 or an iPhone 6 any day

"This phone is only guaranteed to work with US Cellular"
And it's this phone: http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/...-Silver-g5 which has LTE Band: 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/20/25; CDMA Band Class: 0/1; UMTS Bands 1/2/4/5/8; GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. For T-Mobile users be aware that even though band 12 is listed, it's not a band 12 VoLTE compatible device on T-Mobile. Bands 2 and 4 should work.

I got the G5 a year or so ago when US Cellular were selling them on prepaid for $200. Phone is great and takes amazing pictures. The only issue I have is lack of tempered glass screen protector support. The top of the phone is curved and so is the bottom slightly. This makes finding a full coverage screen protector hard. I'm using one made by Scratch, but I occasionally have to take it off to get the dust out that makes its way underneath. Not sure how long the adhesive will last though. Good thing is replacement screens aren't super expensive for the G5 so even without a screen protector you aren't to out of luck if you break the screen.

Even if this model were not unlocked for GSM, you would still be able to use it on T-Mobile/AT&T since the G5 can easily be unlocked for GSM through software (no root or computer needed). See XDA. I have a Sprint G5 that has worked well on T-Mobile (Band 2, 4, 12) for a very long time. And it's still activated on CDMA. Of course it goes without saying that International GSM is no issue as Domestic Unlock is even higher up the chain.

I just protect with Dbrands and a normal tempered glass protector. They look fantastic on the G5.
