Managed to get this today I will post how it's done below. The B.B. employee just doesn't check hand them your phone and they will PM, to Apple.com

#1. Go get the 1TB Gdrive Which is USB-C at your local BB
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/g-te...Id=5502900

#2. Take it to the register bring up this website on your phone.

https://www.apple.com/shop/produc...-HLRE2ZM/A

#3. Show confidence ask the cashier to Pricematch it and hand them your phone.

It's a slightly different model. But all the cashier sees is 1TB and USB-C
Worked for me today alot better than all the Seagate and WesternDigital 5400 RPM drives for the same price.

The GDrive is USB-C and 7200RPM not bad for an external back up. It also brings a standard USB-C to USB 3.0A cable to plug into any USB port.

Any chance you can remove the 7200 drive and put a SSD drive in?

They aren't the same. The OP's point is that at a quick glance they appear the same. One has USB 3.0 while the other is USB 3.1. (Type C). Look at the photos of the product

USB 3.1 absorbed the USB 3.0 Spec. USB 3.0 has retroactively been renamed "USB 3.1 Gen 1" A larger snippet from https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2...a-macbook/ :

"USB 3.0 has retroactively been renamed "USB 3.1 Gen 1," and it retains a theoretical transfer rate of 5.0 Gbps. The USB-IF has confirmed to us that "USB 3.1 Type 1" uses the same controllers as USB 3.0, so we can expect to see some early Broadwell-based Type C systems like the Retina MacBook come with "USB 3.1" even though they're using what we have heretofore known as "USB 3.0" controllers."

While, on those 2 pages, one is named USB 3.0 and the other is named USB 3.1 Gen 1, they are both the same thing functionally. 5Gbps max transfer rate. They may be different model numbers and slightly different look to the case, hell the drive inside might even be different. Functionally, though, they are the same goddamn drive. A sata drive running 7200 rpm is still going to have a max external transfer rate of 125MB/s. The USB interface on either is still going to be limited to a max 5Gb/s transfer rate.
There's really no reason to go PM from bestbuy instead of buy from apple except getting it in your hands now, shipping cost, or you just don't want to buy from apple.
