Google Express' message when I press checkout:

"The item just vanished, try searching for something similar..." :-(

It's charging me tax ($15) and I'm in Idaho and Fry's doesn't have an outlet/store here.

How do I remove the tax?

We dont Frys store in our state, when I add it says 'not in stock in my area'. Guess its more of local delivery option.

Same here. I just paid and submitted a query to Google about it. I'm in NM and as far as I know Fry's does not have presence in NM either. Even if they did, the tax being charged is exorbitant.

My logic: even with this "tax", it's cheaper than any other deal I've seen lately at $115 OTD.

Google express is essentially a courier service. GE is the customer (thus paying the local sales tax rate where they buy the product). They just pass along the tax they paid (they sometimes estimate high, then adjust it later).

Others had reported from other deals that on the final receipt taxes were removed. Keep finger crossed.

Have you actually purchased a gift card from GE and gotten charged the tax? or are you just not reading what people say in every GE thread?

im impressed... google express hasn't been in Toledo and I was doubtful I would be able to partake on this deal... but low and behold, I'll have my drive in about 8 days!
My total with tax was $135.37 (-$20 amex deal) for $105.37 final credit card bill for 500GB samsung evo SSD. Think that was worth it.

Thanks and repped!

I have a local Frys and it seems that I can still add it to my cart. Therefore, I think that it may only be available at states that have Frys.
