As of 1/20/18 at 10AM: "Coupon code "LED5" is not valid." I was on the front page and am not sure how I got to this - but it had a long run. Was it a slick deal at $8? - would it be good at $13?

Very cheap for a desk lamp or other use. Just be aware it's a little on the short side. It says 16" extended. You aren't going to use it in its extended state, so figure on more like 12 inches. I have a more expensive one where the neck is about 22" but it doesn't have to bend and it's a great height. The head has a swivel on it.

Tape or permanent marker over the light source usually takes care of that easily enough. My fave is black electrical tape with a tiny hole in it so you can still see the light when you're really looking for it.

Highly unlikely. They tend to be in the 1A - 2.1A range. Enough to charge a mid range phone w/o interruption overnight but no tabs etc. I'd say it would be kinda nice to have a tablet of sorts plugged in over the piano or something but if the tablet is on it will drain faster than the charge. At a desk I would plug in a sep fast or high amp charger and ignore the USB onboard.

The new Eneloop chargers have a low power charging port on them too. Why?

How much energy does this use? The description says as little as 3W and 7W plug in power, but whats the highest when full bright? Anyone has this light before? Wondering whether it lost for as long as the bulb life 25k hours?

They use hardly any energy. But a cheap one like this won't be all that bright either.

I have something like this. can't leave it plugged in, indicator light is often too bright for bedroom on a lot of gadgets. Some come with proprietary charger, not mini usb.

My wife is on me for not having enough lights for the kids when they're doing homework or reading. Any recommendations from any of you is much appreciated. Thank you.
