I'd like to second this. Does it have a hope on medium-pile carpet?

During the past month, I tested the ILIFE A4s, Roomba 690 and the Roomba 805 (Costco model).

ILIFE A4s vacuumed great on my hardwood and tile floors. It was okay on my low/medium pile carpets. It was the quietest of the three models I tested. We were even able to watch TV in the same room it was vacuuming. No WiFi connection made for an easy setup. The included remote control was easy to use. My floors have a lot of dog hair and I didn't like scraping clean the brush rollers on this vacuum. The hair also got under the front wheel and I had to remove the wheel often to clean out the wheel cavity or the vacuum would begin to circle. The brush roller cleaning was easy but I didn't want to deal with the extra time needed, so I returned it. Purchased during Amazon sale $133.64 (after 1% promo code) on Nov 23, 2017.

Roomba 690 was ridiculously loud and was still a bit of a hassle to clean the brush rollers. It also occasionally had issues staying connected to WiFi which would make it stop working. I returned it. Purchased during Target sale $261.24 (after REDcard 5% discount) on Nov 22, 2017.

Roomba 805 cleaned the best of the three robot vacuums on medium pile carpet. It wasn't as quiet as the ILIFE A4s and not as loud as the Roomba 690. No WiFi so no problems with connectivity or deleting floor maps as I pick up the vacuum and move to three different floors to vacuum. And the rollers have no brushes; this was the selling point for me. I kept this one. Purchased during Costco sale $304.99 (after costco.com $25 promo code) on Nov 28, 2017. This sale is still on through Dec 31 at costco.com [costco.com]; if you didn't get a $25 costco.com promo code, you may be able to call/email their customer service and request it; only one promo code can be redeemed per account.

No mapping feature.

Cleaning modes include auto, spot, edge and mini-room, but it uses a bumper and multiple sensors to navigate each time it vacuums. These modes are initiated with a button on the robot or buttons on the remote control.
