Not one of the quoted posters but I've had an on again/off again relationship with keto for about six months. I did not supplement with ketones, and I am not sure I understand the theory behind it, unless maybe to get into ketosis faster? But going into ketosis was not an issue for me.

i guess the manufactures claim that one's body gets used to burning ketones... but not sure if that really works...
who knows. for me ketosis seems almost impossible... even when i eat no carbs at all the pee strips never show any ketones. not sure why.

Please put that this is an e-book in the title. Clicked thinking this was a actual book made with paper as e-books give me migraines

The ketone strips are mostly just useful for type 1 diabetics (to check for dangerous ketoacidosis). If you are in ketosis, you are burning your ketones not peeing them out. For regular ketoers the strips are expensive and unnecessary. You were probably in ketosis, try again, it really works. 😊

Keto works. I've been on it since May of 2017 and have lost about 79 pounds. Check out the Keto subreddit for recipes and success stories. A single purchase of ketone strips will last you far past the extent of your diet, so I didn't find it to be that big of a deal to get some on Amazon. That and a weigh scale!

Thanks. Lost 75 pounds in Keto from April to October. No excercise other than my active job.

Supplementing ketones is really for energy, think of it as extra fuel. If you're just an everyday person or trying to lose weight, then I wouldn't really worry about using exogenous ketones. Their place is more for supplementing for athletes, workouts, and some other more specific cases.

I've been living a keto lifestyle for over 2 years now. I bought keto strips when I first started, and used it for a few weeks. After a while, I stopped using the strips (I still have them, but probably expired). I mostly go by feel, I know I'm in ketosis mainly based on how I feel. My energy is even, with no highs or lows. Also, my mind is clear and my mood is neutral. When I do fall out of ketosis due to carb creep, or still in ketosis but simply not eating enough fat - I'm easily irritable, my energy is lower, and lose focus easily.
