Old android email app, set default sending address from combined view

685 35 December 28, 2017 at 07:48 AM
I use the old android email app because I don't like any other email app. I've gotten it going on my new phone but I can't remember how I was able to change the default sending address on a new email when in the combined view. I pretty much only send work related emails and need them to go out on my work address. When in combined view and I hit new email it defaults to my gmail address. I have to click and choose my work address. I was able to change it on my last phone but I don't remember how I did it. Anyone remember how to change it?

You should probably start by telling us which App you are using and what phone it came from.

In general using old apps is a bad idea as they can have security vulnerabilities and not support current standards depending on the age.

It likely won't be useful to anyone else but I figured out how I changed it before. Well actually you can't change it. You have to enter your accounts in the order you want them to be in. I removed and reinstalled the app making sure to add my work email first. Now in the combined view a new message comes up with my work email address in it already. Thanks qqq1, you're the best.

It might depend on the phone model but Settings, Accounts, Email Settings, Default Account
