I needed one of these for a project. I got the $25 harbor freight version. Very strong motor and worked perfectly. Not sure how long it will last but I'd give it a shot if u r tight on funds.

Very Nice. Lowest price it's ever been on Amazon was 75 in 2016. In for one for sure, have the larger bosch router for heavier work and love it. Need a palm router for those smaller jobs and the included edge guide is great.

Glad you said this, I bought one, project didn't pan out so I returned it having never used it. Still wondering when I need one again if it would perform as well as the Bosch or the Dewalt for limited use.

"Router" located under the Computer section of the site.... wrong type of router for this section.

This old model Colt sucks. I'd buy the Makita, or possibly the newer Colt, but I haven't used the new one yet.

What specifically don't you like about this model? I was thinking about getting the newer LED version, or the Makita, but since I already have a full size router and this would get limited use, was thinking of getting this one instead.

I have an old Colt that I am plenty satisfied with and don't understand why it gets maligned so often, but if I recall the criticisms correctly it is because some people have problems with depth adjustments. I haven't shopped around so maybe I'm missing out on something spectacular, but the Colt works fine for me.

The depth adjustment is garbage. The threads on the aluminum body wear out, and the aluminum body against aluminum base leads to galling. The spindle lock strips out after minimal use and originally they didn't include a spindle wrench. Also, the accessory bases like the offset base also have major problems, such as the offset spindle nut loosening during use and the spindle walking out.

Thanks guys, I ended up buying the Makita about an hour ago and now feel confident I made the right decision. Wish it had a case like this one does though...

I don't think you could go wrong with either but the Makita is probably a better deal if you have a need for the plunge base.
