Verizon is offering $200 off any regular-priced cellular enabled iPads with a 2 year agreement

10.5" iPad Pro 64 GB - $579.99
12.9" iPad Pro 64GB - $729.99
9.7" iPad 32 GB - $259.99
iPad Mini 4 128GB - $329.99

- Verizon offers a single device 1GB plan for $15/month ($10/GB after) which can be reduced to $10/month if you sign up for paperless billing and autopay.
- $200 Device discount breaks down to $8.33/month savings (24 month period)
- Device must be paid in full at time of purchase, there is no discount for monthly payment plan

I'm not personally in the market to switch with Verizon however have seen many requests for deals on the cellular versions of these iPads. If you were to pay full price elsewhere for these iPads, this equates to $1.67/month for a 1GB plan ($10-$8.33)

I just don't get the utility of these for most people. Especially if you have an iPhone, which I imagine e the vast majority of iPad owners do. The tethering is simple and painless...so why not just use your iphone's LTE?

Most likely for battery reasons. Tethering drains it quicker than normal. Also if your phone battery runs out, you can't tether.

People aren't going to like that 2 year contract to get this.

(I'm OP) and I agree as well. I'm looking to get the wifi model but people keep asking if there are deals for the LTE model and this is the first I've ever seen.

I believe the Pro model allows you to use 2 carriers (built-in SIM and insert SIM); if you were to pay full price to go on T-Mobile for example, you could get it with Verizon as well for $1.33/month

Not a truly slick deal but only deal I saw out there.

I currently have T-Mobile, and I have a 5gb tablet line that I'm not utilizing. I've been considering getting an iPad, trying to justify the premium for the LTE version but haven't seen many good deals. Can you please explain what you mean by "if you were to pay full price to go on T-Mobile for example, you could get it with Verizon as well for $1.33/month?" Thanks!

Some people fly drones and they want their maps and RTH updated in real time.

What he probably meant was that T-Mobile doesn't discount their iPads, so you might as well get it with the discount from Verizon, because it would cost you only $40 more over two years with the service included than to pay full price to T-Mobile. In reality, the Verizon deal could be even made better if you go via certain cashback sites and convince Verizon to drop activation charges. Verizon's iPads are not locked, so you will still be able to use T-Mobile SIM cards.

From what I understood the WiFi-only models do not include GPS chips, which might be important for some apps (mapping, etc)

$150 for iPads. $200 if adding an iPhone purchase.
