$399.99 is the lowest price I've seen all year on amazon - $449 was the previous low. Brand new with prime shipping.

Various bundles are discounted too it seems.

$409.98: GoPro w/ SD Card Bundle (32gb memory card)
$447.98 Starter Bundle (head strap, extra battery, 32gb memory card
$463.97: Deluxe Bundle (head strap, carrying case, battery, 32gb memory card)
$497.98: Vacation Bundle (3-way grip, battery, 32gb memory card)

Interesting you say that. Almost every review I've read suggests that it's a much better camera than the Hero5, which was considered a fantastic camera by GoPro's standards:

As to the Yi 4K+, the reviews suggest that it's a draw, except for the price: http://www.trustedreviews.com/rev...ion-camera and https://www.pcmag.com/review/353390/yi-4k

And the video samples I see suggest that the Hero6 seems to have a much wider dynamic range than the Yi4K+ and what looks to be much better stabilization: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyl7pLEzXyk

So not sure where you're getting your analysis from, unless you're trolling.

Bought one last month at full price for a St. Lucia vacation, and I've got to say this is worth it. I debated just using my iPhone 7 Plus camera in an additional case, but I found the supplemental phone footage to work great with the GoPro app. It's incredibly easy to use and stock footage looks great. In anticipation to cover all my bases on vacation, I bought a generic accessory kit which I found the head strap and floating stick to be most useful along with the GoPro 3-way tripod, about 500+gb worth of micro sd cards, 4 extra batteries, and the multi-battery charger.

The worst part by far is the lack of battery. DO NOT FORGET YOUR USB-C CABLE! Keep extras in a plastic bag if you need to swap out. I ended up only using a single 64GB card for a whole week, which seemed to be plenty (After a ton of research, I got San Disk Extreme Pros and Samsung Evo Selects. Both of which worked fine. I was very worried about write speed on these cards.) I tended to take a bunch of rather short videos and stitched them together afterwards in Adobe Premiere and their app. It's worth noting I have a fairly top-of-the-line computer for work, so editing wasn't an issue for me, so I'd make sure your computer is powerful enough to handle the video.

That's my experience so far and I hope the helps out someone in their research on what to get. Happy to answer any questions.

Wow that became cheap quick. Other than the coupon that briefly covered the Hero 5 from (IIRC) LL Bean, I don't remember the Hero 5 dropping below MSRP for the first six months. Wonder if they're feeling the pressure from the likes of Yi and other brands downmarket.
