Mixed feelings about this. Thoughts anyone? Who's paying for the promotion? Charity navigator Reads this as a 72 out of 100. They spent 29 percent of their expenses on fundraising. Thoughts anyone? Last-minute tax write off?

Guaranteed way to get more charity spam is all I know. Remarkable how much crap they blast you with and distribute your information around the charity pool.

Those of us in the grant winning business can smell a scam like this miles away. The whole point of these is to show "matching funds" so the other funder matches what you've "raised". This sort of scam is big in the charity world, and to a lessor extent with government grants and research funding. The idea is to actually have no matching funds, but pay for it yourself and con your funder into giving you money regardless. Next step is to leverage the funds you've won to scam the next sucker into giving you money

Thank you, OP. Just FYI, I received this email from SB after donating $25:

Thanks for discovering a great deal at Swagbucks! We see you made a transaction through Swagbucks for American Diabetes Association Donation valued at 3,000 SB. We wanted to let you know that your SB are pending until February 01, 2018.

So hang tight and remember, before you buy something online, check Swagbucks Shop first to earn SB for your purchase.

SB showed pending in my account activity immediately. I'm already on every charity mailing list on the planet, so probably not possible to get more spam than I already do. Smilie

FWIW, in the worst case, I have had to create support tickets. I have never lost any money.

point will show as pending on your activity and you should get an email from Swagbucks stating you completed the deal. If not, you should probably submit the ticket now.

wish we could donate anonymously...

second best, use a bad address (but zip code will need to match your credit card likely)

good news - luckily got instant credit (seen in activity, not on points balance since it's pending)

bad news - when I refreshed it set back default to $50 and I donated $50. oh well, guess ADA wins, better cure diabetes!

My amex got "hacked" minutes after I donated (bunch of unauthorized charges). Just a coincidence?
