Any of these will do - what will determine the size is what you're fishing for and also where. As someone above said, 4000 for perch should work. Even halibut, stripers, corbina, and croaker would be good on this reel. 6000 and higher is where you start getting into fishing of sharks, rays, and crab snaring.

Thanks for the reply, I just got I to fishing at the beach this past year. I bought a Penn battle 2 and a 9ft ugly stick, I'm just not sure what size I bought lol. I know it's bigger than a 4000. I fish for stripers out of mass/nh. Mostly schoolies, but big fish are caught there all the time

I fish with 4oz sinkers off the bottom with clam/mackerel there is strong current bc I fish at the mouth of a river.

6000 is what I would do. 4000 will probably max out at 25lb test braid, sounds like you need a little more than that
