Nice cheap cables. Anyone know if the upcoming HDMI 2.1 will work on these cables? Saw someone mention the new standard the other day.

There are no consumer products even available that can take advantage of the HDMI 2.1 spec and won't be for years. For example: 10K HDTVs. See this article: https://www.cnet.com/news/hdmi-2-...ut-it-now/

Also, there's no such thing as "4K HDMI" cables that this deal is labeled as, there's only high speed HDMI. Most HDMI cables made in the last several years will work fine for 4K. That said these cables are decently priced.

You are correct. Cables are dumb. Connectors support versioning like 1.4, 2.0 or 2.1

Lol nothing.. If I remember correctly, as another user mentioned above, all that matters is if it's "High speed" or not.

And you most likely do have high speed hdmi cable. If you don't know, just check the cable, most of them will have a label on there saying "High Speed".

I have had many HDMI cables that I bought a few years ago. Wathcing a 4K movie on my Xbox 1S did not look noticably better than BluRay - do you think I need "new" HDMI cables? Mine were pretty cheap, so they might be "not 4K"

Are you using a 4K TV? You won't see much improvement unless it's on a 4K TV.

Also your console should tell you what it's outputting at. If it shows up as 4K and HDR, then you're good to go.

Lot of misinformation in this thread...not all "high speed" HDMI cables are equal. Most that say they "support 4K" will just barely work with 4K and won't work at all with HDR. The wire gauge very much matters. Not saying that these are bad cables, but claiming that all high speed cables are the same is ignorant. Unfortunately they don't list the important specs on this page.

Source: I've been an A/V pro for 10 years and have found enough bad "high speed" cables to know. Now we use Binary B6 (28AWG) cables for everything 4K
