Amazon has two Tolkien books heavily discounted on Kindle at this moment. Either price might end in about half an hour from this posting. (Or not. The prices are the same now, about an hour after I first posted this, even though the year changed at Amazon.)

The Lord of the Rings: One Volume [amazon.com] is $3.99.

Beren and Lúthien [amazon.com] is $2.99.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Just remember - not sold by Amazon directly so no-ship credits may not apply. Frown

Might as well add LOTR to my ebook collection. Too bad the Hobbit isn't also on sale.

On for both. Already have Children of Hunern, and the physical books of the rest. But I love me my Kindle...

How does that work? Do they rotate what's available? In other words, should I buy it now while it's cheap? (I've read through them multiple times via my print set.)

Yes, the content in Prime library does change but, truth be told, this seems like man after thought to Amazon these days as very little that is not self-published (not meant pejoratively) is ever added

So if you want to be 100% certain you'll always have access, I'd buy the book at this price.

If you're talking about the Prime Lending Library then it's a free rental per calendar month. You have to return the "current" book before you can get a new one. I'm pretty sure that The Hobbit and LOTR FOTR have been available for a few years now.

Yeah I just got a Paperwhite last year and Love it. Didn't think I would like it as much as I usually by physical books but it's a really nice device.

Sure can. Below the options to buy is a button that says "Give as a Gift." Click that link to buy and you just need the email address of the person you are gifting to.
