Yes salt generally would be better, but I have same thoughts about having to deal with salt all over the place.

I have the original version, not the 2.0, but it's not a huge amount of salt at all and if you're shooting over carpet you'll never know it's there. The only thing that I find is that I need to be fairly close to the insects in order to kill them. If flies land they don't usually seem to mind the gun getting fairly close to them so you can give them a good blast. The little bastards never know what hit them.. it's always much more fun to pull out the gun instead of wishing I had a fly swatter!

I'm in Colorado Springs. When I checked the site, it does say not sold at my location even though there is a whole pallet there

I love that I couldn't order this in NY ... waited for Christmas and had an out-of-state relative get it for me. hah!

That said it was twice this price so good deal. Have yet to find a fly but man, I can't wait. >Smilie

It's obvious you guys have not used this before. I had the original one and gave it to my dad. It shoots a very small amount of salt. I have an insanely clean house and would have no reservations about shooting it indoors. You would need to shoot it 50 times in a row in a very small area to get noticeable salt anywhere. Salt wont attract ants or other bugs either. Don't be so melodramatic.

Original price is too high for this since it's a toy. This price should be closer to what the retail price is, but I would imagine the creator is buying super low volume so he can't get as good of discounts. If my Sams has this I will buy it for sure at this price. Version 1.0 worked well for flies.
