DS lite - play DS and Game Boy Advance games

DSi - slightly bigger screen and plays DS games only

DSi XL - Biggest screen and plays DS games only

Note all three run games at the same resolution, so games look worse on the larger screens.

My suggestion is go for DSi or XL version. Get the DS lite only if you plan to play Game Boy Advance games.

Big difference. None of these systems will play 2DS/3DS games. Although no new games are being made for these systems the original DS has a great game library of cheap games.

Based on my many multiple experiences buying refurbished products from gamestop, I will definitely prefer refurbished over pre owned. 10/10 I have received mint condition items since refurbished products from gamestop go through a process in which they test the item for full functionality and put new/mint parts in order for the item to look like new. On the other hand, pre owned items are in the same condition as the previous owners traded in or sold the game to gamestop and even though you can return the item, gamestop employees do not complete a thorough inspection when receiving the item and it might have a defect that is not shown immediately while using the device. in conclusion, I'll go for a refurbished > pre owned.

You're comment is pretty much trash. These combined with a flash card are amazing. Every game free plus emulators for total investment of like 30 bucks.

Got my kids 2ds xls for Xmas. What's the major difference (Google not being helpful). Do they play the same games? Thinking about grabbing one for myself.

TIA
