My son has the older version of this same car. Super cheap off brand aa's get about 30 mins of run time, i'd say.

I'd also mention that $13 is about what this is worth. It's good at bumping over rocks and sticks, but much like all the new bright junk you get at walmart, the build quality is super cheap. Seriously, the antenna is just a loose wire you feed through a straw.

The Tyco truck I saved allowance to get 20+ years ago is still going strong whereas my son's rock crawler is already breaking pieces off.

I bought this twice. The suspension went bad and I couldn't adjust or fix it. My son was crushed, he was so careful and hadn't even taken it outside yet. So I figured it was bad luck and bought another one that isn't great either. It's junk but looks really cool. It's super slow but tough-ish. It uses piles of batteries. Gramma bought a set of two li-on USB rechargeable race cars at Wal-Mart that my kids like way better and they can charge easily. I would definitely look elsewhere.

I'm guessing you would want rechargeable. My experience with anything running aa has been less than 10 mins.

This deal's dead. BUT I have to say we have the regular Maisto Rock Crawler (the one that looks like a regular monster truck), and it's an absolute beast. The long travel on the independent shocks really work. It can roll over my toddlers (right over their backs, legs, arms) no problem and they love it. The rechargeable batteries last at least 3 sessions of my kids chasing the truck around the playroom

Shows $13.36 for me just now, but I'm probably going to pass and look for one with a rechargable battery pack

I bought this previously at the store and while fun for a while the steering would stop working from time to time. It got worse and worse during the week. Luckily garbage hadn't been picked up yet and I took the box out and returned it all. It could go on grass but really slow. Worth $13? Yes. Worth any more than that? No.
