Haven't seen a FireWire device in years. It was so fast compared to USB 1.0

I'm guessing you mean you have an old miniDV camcorder. Transfer all you tapes over to digital files and forget about using that miniDV camcorder anymore. The quality/resolution of those old camcorders are rather poor. You'll notice that once you put Your FireWire to work. Your cell phone takes better quality videos. You really should upgrade to a newer camcorder if you plan on shooting new videos.

I was just thinking the same thing... I was like WTF... FireWire... surely not.

But proof that some people still need old tech for some of their electronics.
