Target has the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum listed online as $39.99. Not available online but a local store had stock and price matched the website for me.

I actually went to target and picked this up. $40.50 or something after tax and -5% red card. I hated this mouse. I have a logitech g203 and and mx518 I love. I like the g402 also tho don't own one. this 502 however sucked. the sensor was perfect, of course, but it was bulky, HEAVY, didn't glide well, had awkward button placement and worse of all I hope the scroll wheel was broke because it actually did wheel side clicks every time when accelerating left and right and just free spins, no clicks. the center buttons must have a 1/4" spring under them god forbid you have to click them; you wont though because they are too inaccessible to ever use. It was that bad. the package was virgin but i cant imagine the scroll wheel is supposed to be so floppy and clicks every time you whip it.

There's a little button near the center wheel that you can press that will put the scroll wheel into free spinning mode.

Thanks for the tip. Does this also make it flop left and right when moving the mouse left and right at medium speeds? I got center wheel side clicks every single time i move left or right with a bit of speed. Flopping all over the place. I wanted to like this mouse but there was no way.

I've had this mouse for well over a year now and never experienced that. I think you got a dud.
