After tax, Best Buy was still cheaper for most of the buyers. I got mine $97 after the sale tax.

Yeap, but BBs deal isn't available anymore or at the moment.

Return the SIM Card and reselling the refill card, mine came up at $50ish.

See it more as a decent point and shoot camera with 4K recording with the availability to make phone calls.

Compared to the 32gb G5 there is not much difference in performance. The extra gig of ram makes a lot of difference and gives this phone an edge over G5. At 99 it's not a bad phone. Most of the reviews are based at a price of 499.

If you can live without finger print reader and wifi calling for T-Mobile I would suggest you get this.

It is a terrific phone if you typically carry around a $200 or less phone. Good pictures IMO despite all the bad reviews. Yes, it's Mediatek, meaning no root and likely no custom ROMS ever. Yes, you're stuck on Marshmallow with no updates coming on the horizon. Yes, there are no phone cases to speak of.

Worth $100? Yes, I think. It takes better pictures than the ZTE V8 Pro or the Honor 6X, two other phones that are obtainable for around $140.

Based of personal experience, or reviews?

I have all three phones and a few more (Blu Vivo 8, Honor 8) acquired in the last half year. The Honor 8 tops the list in preset photography, but I wonder if playing around with the camera software and adjusting the settings with the Kodak would result in better pictures. Certainly the Kodak is better out of the box in my opinion than all the other phones, even the crowd favorite for value Moto G5 Plus.

As I said, the value proposition the Kodak poses for $100 is very high. It beats everything else I have come across in the < 180 range. I like the Honor 8 the best, but I did paid $300 for the 64GB version new.

Wow. Now that I checked, you were not kidding! There's a few bulky pouches, even a leather one for +$76 on Amazon, but nothing worthwhile. I'm the type that needs a good protective case. It's a funky looking phone and I was considering one out of curiosity more than anything. Not that I really need another phone...

It has 1.5 stars. Terrible software even after updates, flimsy plastic casing.. Sluggish OS. They really rushed its release. Started as a $600 phone. Now can't give them away.

I have the phone and it's not flimsy at all..solid. The OS has been fine, but I'm not a app hog. The saving grace is it's killer camera. Shoot it on program or use the scenes and it captures a excellent photo and due in most part to having Sony's high end sensor. Bought two on the BestBuy deal, returned the Cricket cards at store without a hassle so ended up paying $49. for each! Has Band 12 too for us T-Mo users. Final note: the manual shutter (also has screen press shutter buttone) is really nice since you hold in landscape and it's fast to focus with PDAF.
