Ive had this modem since it first came out in 2015 - its been going strong since with my 300mbit connection. Just an FYI, 3.1 is rolling out this year to a lot of carriers so your likely to see alot of 3.0 docsis modems on sale.

I use it on Cox.

Docsis 3.0 can push a good bit of data. There are some ISP's that are currently pushing 1Gbps down and 100Mbps up over 3.0. On the other hand there are also other ISP's that are pushing the same speeds but require Docsis 3.1 to do it.

Docsis 3.1 is able to push more data per channel and use less energy to do so. And at the current state of Docsis 3.1 they know it can push at least 10Gbps down and 1Gbps up but may beable to push more as it advances.

It really just boils down to what is your ISP going to require to give you the speeds you want. If your ISP supports 3.1 modems that could future proof you a bit. With everything in a state of flux over the next year or two as ISP deciede on when they want to go 3.1
