Coupon Cabin Warning

I'm not sure if Deal Talk is the right forum for this so if not please move it.

I wanted to warn other SD'ers about Coupon Cabin. I accepted a $2 bonus for buying a meal at Panda Express. On the page it did not show as a "limited time offer" when I accepted it. I confirmed by taking a screen shot. I realized it was limited when I tried to get a $25 off $25 Amazon offer and it showed I needed to wait until 1/10/18. I checked the page for the $2 Panda Bonus and saw it now said "Limited time offer". I contacted Coupon Cabin and asked for it to be reversed and forfeited. They wouldn't consider the error, the screen shot and simply said no.

I replied I was going to file a report and they closed my account, accused me of being a bully and threatening them. I replied with a much longer, polite message and fully explained the situation thinking maybe they don't realize the issue. I read my message twice and there was no language a child couldn't read. I received a reply simply saying if I use profanity again my account would be closed.

Upset I replied and pointed out I never used profanity. It was clear they realized that when I said i was filing a report it wasn't a threat nor was I bullying as i wasn't expecting them to change their mind. By saying I was profane it was a way to show I was in violation of their Terms. I wrote another long nice email even apologizing for saying if file a report with a fake agency. Yes the agency I named was fake.

They simply said they were parting ways and how do I want the cash back. I replied in a check and gave my address. Today they sent a amazon gift card by email.

I kept saying I want to drop this but after being accused of being a bully (which I wasn't), threatening them (which I didn't), falsely told I'm using profanity, and being sent a gift card verses check I decided to actually file a BBB report and post here. I read their terms of service and they actually violated the terms by cancelling my account for simply saying I'm filing a complaint. It states I can have an account closed for threatening them in order to gain or be paid which I didn't, use of profanity which I didn't, or fraud which I didn't.

All this because I asked for help over a $2 bonus and when not listened to I said I was filing a complaint.

Lesson to all of you on SD. Do NOT question any cash back issues nor file a complaint against Coupon Cabin as they will retailiate against you. If anyone thinks I'm not being honest message me and I'll send the messages to you. That way you can see how ridiculous it was.

And I know a private company can take this type of action but it is not in the terms of service. They are bound by it as much as I am.

Good luck to everyone and be careful when using Coupon Cabin as they do NOT have helpful customer service and will cancel an account over a $2 issue when proof exist it was an issue.

This company sucks. They tried to scam me on a Dell offer by saying the item didn't qualify, when it clearly was not excluded in the terms. They banned me when I contacted them.

Wow I did realize the issues. Evidently Michaela S. is still employed, go figure.

Got the same retaliation when I complained about their Chrome browser extension causing issues and caused traffic spike. Initially they partially blocked my account saying too much traffic is being detected. After, my email, they blocked me for violating their rules. Also won't honor my 20% cash back bonus.

Stay away!

This same witch closed my member only promo where I made purchase and said it was modified. I told her it wasn't and she threatened to close my account and won't tell me how it was modified. Lost $50

Coupon cabin is the absolute worst. They reversed and/or denied cashback multiple times for no apparent reason on my account (none were provided by coupon cabin and no coupons or anything else that might cause cashback to be voided were used). Eventually they just closed my account and stole my cashback balance. I use 3 or 4 of the main cashback sites and encounter zero issues with any other cashback site.
. With coupon cabin problems are the rule, not the exception. Plus from reading online coupon cabin just closing accounts and stealing cashback is not uncommon.

Coupon cabin rates are generally lower than the other cash back sites. The only plus they offer are the members only exclusive offers. Before they shut my account they didnt honor one of those offers anyways.
They know no one has any recourse with their rediculously long one sided terms and conditions which contains an arbitration provision. Unfortunately when things seem too good to be true they usually are.
You cannot rely on many of the no name review sites saying coupon cabin and other shady sites are great as they are basically bought and paid for by the shady merchants themselves.
Unlike Google, where it is apparently very difficult to get negative reviews reviewed, these fake review sites just delete negative reviews unless you provide copious amounts of substantiation and back up documentation.

Yes. I'm dealing with the same issue. I have been using Coupon Cabin for a few years and suddenly I was asked to verify my account. I sent in a copy of my drivers license as requested and then received a very curt email from Michala S. Terminating my account. No reason was given. I cannot believe how rude she is. I would not recommend working with this company. I just want to know why they randomly dump people and do not give reasons for their actions.

A couple of years ago I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They closed my account saying that it was flagged for violating their policies, and refused to tell me what the violation was. They gave me the $138 in question as soon as I filed the complaint. They clearly do not want an investigation. My take is that if they have to pay out too much money, they eventually just make something up and shut you down. It was good while it lasted and I collected several hundred dollars from purchases, but that was all they were going to allow me to have.

Better Business Bureau, they have a department for online businesses, I filed a complaint and they gave me what I was owed immediately. It wouldn't surprise me to eventually see a class action lawsuit against them.

Is your account still open with coupon cabin? I heard they give money and close the account.

Coupon Cabin used to be great, but now it's clearly fraudulent. It seems that the management in the company change sometime in 2019.

Coupon Cabin owes me $192 - they've already received their commission for these purchases. My account was also flagged for "proof of US residency" and they requested real copies of my driver's license. I explained that my credit card info was recently stolen through a similar method and Coupon Cabin said there was no other option. When I told them I would file a complaint if they would not guarantee protection of my driver's license information or else offer another method for me to prove my residency, they froze my account and said I could now only communicate with their company attorney - their customer service would no longer communicate with me. I filed a complaint on BBB and they responded in a friendly way that they would accept 6 different forms of proof of residency and would reopen my account within 15 min. I saw their response on BBB and sent them another message asking what the other 5 forms for proof of residency they would accept from me ---they won't respond to me. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and am waiting for a response now It's unreal that I have to take these measures to recover the $192 Coupon Cabin owes me!

Put me down as another UNHAPPY and abused former Coupon Cabin member.

I was with them for years and in the last 2 had spent quite a bit and earned several special member offers.

On multiple occasions, they would just change my reward payment date with no notice. When I complained, they changed my payment option from PayPal to check and wouldn't allow me to go back.

Then, I got in on a $75 Gamestop offer and the cashback wouldn't show. I asked about it and they said it was fixed. I checked and I did get a $50 credit to my account. I asked why $50 when the offer said 75 and the claimed that I had hit my earning limit for the calendar year.

I asked for clarification as to how you know when you can't earn more or can earn again and got the run around from 4 different employees!

When I politely but insistently complained I got threats and ultimately account suspension as well.

I did get my $160.19 payment and then I returned $42 of my order!

I will warn everyone and will be filing complaints as well.

I just filed a complaint. They did as they did to all of you plus more and flagged mine as needing verification. After sending all that info they flagged it again! So when it finally got back to normal I waited a few months to get my saved offer cashback to be safe and started to use them again and won another offer a couple days ago for Target.com. Bought something and got the bonus cashback in my account and now my account is banned. What the heck? Maybe because my bonus offers went over $600 total in the past 2 years? Would have been 7 if they give me the cashback that I won a few days ago that I will now have to take to Target to return.
Contacted customer service and they just say that it's terms and conditions related. What the heck does that mean? I clicked the mouse too fast to win? I can't use my phone browser and desktop browser at the same time to try to win? I think whoever is on their IT that they use to flag these is not doing a very good job.
Filed a BBB complaint.

My original experience with Coupon Cabin dates back almost a decade.

At that point they weren't even doing cash-back; they just had discount coupon codes (similar to retailmenot.com), but their 'claim to fame' was that they actually 'verified' their coupons every day. The first coupon I tried to use did not work. But to make it up to me, they gave me a voucher for a restaurant.com gift card for use at any participating restaurant... but as I eventually found out, there were only a handful of the restaurants in my area that supposedly accepted restaurant.com gift cards. So, that wound up being just as worthless as the discount coupon code had been.

Several years after that, Coupon Cabin started trying to be a 'Mr. Rebates' clone, but with much higher percentage special limited-time-only cash-back deals. But I was *NEVER* able to actually use any of those, because even if I sat there with mouse hovering over the button, waiting for the exact moment one of those deals became available, it was *ALWAYS* already (supposedly) "used up."

My own coupon cabin acct. was terminated after I helped a friend (who lives elsewhere) sign up for their own account. This was when I was still giving CC the benefit of the doubt. As it turns out, just logging into two accounts from the same IP is "proof" (according to Coupon Cabin's "rules") of one person having multiple accounts. I had maybe a couple bucks in my coupon cabin acct. at that point, which I lost. So they scam people out of small amounts too.

Coupon Cabin has many, many complaints against them on BBB, but they still have an A+ rating. How is that possible? Because they always "answer" all complaints (including follow-ups)... and even though their "answers" are almost always just copied-and-pasted boilerplate that refers to their terms & conditions, the main thing the BBB rating is based on is whether they answer complaints. BBB does have an "advisory" warning about numerous complaints, though.

They may have been legit at some point in the past, but based on my experience, and reading the complaints against them on BBB, they have essentially become a scam operation that uses extremely restrictive and arbitrary terms & conditions as an excuse to avoid actually paying rewards.

FWIW, to all the people here who mentioned that they sent Coupon Cabin copies of your driver's license... I realize the money hanging out there was a temptation... but are you NUTS?! Their promises to keep your personal info secure are as empty as their other promises.
