Seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Based on this writing, you apparently struggle with proper sentences.

I paid $181.89 for the dumbbells only on May 3, 2017 from Amazon. Is the stand really worth ~$120?

The 552 Dumbbells alone were a great purchase at $180. This deal w/ stand however is not. They will stay on the floor for now.

I owned the new model of this dumbell and the stand is so worthy. If you dont have any other alternative buy the stand.

Are these dumbbells worth it? I'm more concerned with the usability of the dumbbells, not the stand. I have looked at Powerblocks, which are cheaper, but these look much better.

It's only January 4th, and we already have a contender for the most confusing post of the year...: lol:

There are only two requirements for nomination:
1) is that the post is genuinely trying to be helpful (sharing experiences, price data, etc.): hug:
and
2) After reading the post half a dozen times, you have no idea what the post is trying to say. : confused:

So back to the topic at hand - iluxion, are you saying that the bench IS good and he should buy the stand? Aside from the "so worthy" typo, what threw me thru a loop was the last sentence. Amazon sells a dozen different benches, so I'm wondering why he wouldn't have any other options? Either way, thanks for trying to help. I rep'd you for making me laugh at 6 am: peace:

Powerblocks are way better. Less bulkier. I own the elite 50 and love them. Real handy when you can't make it to the gym.

I've actually been disappointed with 552 set, though I got a great price ($150). Just an fyi: two things about them have kept conventional dumbbell sets in my workout. [1] Size-wise, they are huge for dumbbells (prohibiting certain exercises). [2] They adjust in 5 lb increments -- not 2.5 lb -- at 25 lb and above. (I like to do small increments, especially in the higher range.) Bought sight-unseen, plus the "fever of the SD", I now would take a pass.
