This has been posted before, but evidently it now includes Google Assistant support.

Much cheaper than the TP-Links I just ordered.

No SmartThings support at this point. Still a good deal as it works with Alexa and Google Home directly.

Right on the day amazon is having a Treasure Truck deal for 2-pack TP-Link for $34. Are they both basically the same?

I want to like this product. Everything was perfect in the beginning, very responsive to Echo. However, two plugs failed to connect to wifi after being moved to different outlets. Alexa kept saying "not responding" despite I followed all troubleshooting instructions targeted to this specific problem (including resetting the devices). This clearly is a bug they haven't resolved. I am returning the two plugs to Amazon today.

How long did you have them?

Tempting...and thanks for posting... but right now I am a little leery of the made in China IOT devices... I just don't know which ones will be around next year, and which ones can be easily hacked. I am going with the bigger names for now.... not that that necessarily makes them any better or safer. I do like my Wemos though, and would like to find a deal like this on those or maybe the tp-link ones. SmartThings and IFTTT support is pretty key for sure. (Of course, those services can be hacked too. I guess you just need to make your choices wisely and keep a close eye on things.)

Most probably know, or this does not apply, but these only work on 2.4 GHz. If you are on 5 GHz only, you're out of luck here.

Anyone know if they work with Google home. The answers on there seem to be conflicting

They do. You install an app named VeSync and create an account. You link that account to Google Assistant and they will show up as a controllable device.

I already have so many smart home related apps, I hate to have more.

I know. I wish they integrated into SmartThings and I would just control them through that.
