Sears/Kmart closing 100 more stores in 2018

Sears Holdings continues its strategic assessment of the productivity of our Kmart and Sears store base and will continue to right size our store footprint in number and size. In the process, as previously announced we will continue to close some unprofitable stores as we transform our business model so that our physical store footprint and our digital capabilities match the needs and preferences of our members.
The company on Thursday, January 4 informed associates at 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears stores that we will be closing these stores between early March and early April 2018.
Eligible associates impacted by these store closures will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores. Customers can use the store locator function on our web sites to find the location of their nearest Kmart and Sears stores. Liquidation sales will begin as early as January 12 at these closing stores. Following is a complete list of the impacted stores.

Sad! I wish they could at least get their web site to work a little better. You can't even edit or cancel an order if you make a mistake.

Really love the deals you can get with SYWR, but not only is Amazon way more convenient, the customer service/training seems to be epidemically bad at Sears/Kmart. Ex:

This Christmas I bought luggage for instore pickup online. Go to store to pickup luggage and notice it is defective (mistake one there was an obvious defect - broken handle). That is fine I go to one of the registers to exchange it for a non-defective set of luggage, I find the luggage and bring it over. They demand that we return the first set and ring up the second, this of course really complicates the SYWR points offers I had used and ends up taking around 20 minutes - they were the same set of luggage and I had never left the store, so now I have been delayed 20 minutes, my offers are screwed up and all I can think is why should I go through the trouble? Not surprisingly this store is on the closure list.

Ordered a blouse from Sears. Picked 'it' up, wrong size, wrong color, not even the same price. Told the kid at customer pick-up. He directed me to a register with 15 people in line. No time to wait. Reordered the same blouse I was given it the correct size and just returned the wrong size one when the smaller one came in. Sears cost themselves $25+ since the one I ordered was on clearance and the one they gave me was full price.

Ed Lampert is just Gordon Gekko. Bleed the company for interest on loans from him and sell the valuable brands and real estate the have held for a century as he closes stores. The American Way.

I have had too many similar experiences. I had a shoe order that shipped with just one shoe (that was a pain to return). A coat that came with the security tag (another pain to explain). And several other items that shipped broke. All great deal with SYWR, but in the end too much of a pain, so I stopped buying from them.

I heard that Jerry Brown, Gov. of the Peoples Republic of California, made a deal with Putin and will soon be part of the USSR, as soon as the secession goes through.
