Wonder what the range this would provide. Would it be similar to that inside a typical laptop?

Or pay 2 bucks more and get one with antenna?
I'll shell out the $2 more for (hopefully) better range.

ebay's full of listings on this, so it seems a good deal if you can't wait the month direct from china. consider if you are still using a notebook with only 2.4 abg with no n, then you are probably long overdue for an entire notebook upgrade, not just it's wifi...

It's very time consuming to set up a new computer the way you like things. If you've got a PC that otherwise is doing the job just fine & just needs to get away from the over-crowded single band 2.4GHz WiFi hell, then this under $10 upgrade makes perfect sense. Certainly doesn't cost much to try it.

Nice deal for older stuff but won't the USB 2 limit speed to a theoretical max of 450mb with a likely real world of maybe 300?

Not hating but just sayin...but good price to be able to use 5ghz and free up bandwidth on 2.4ghz

Correct, it still limited as a usb 2.0 interface. They are combining dual bands for marketing purposes. 150 + 433

Agree. But these can really make a slightly older laptop feel faster if the pages actually load in less than a minute 😀

Have not tried the one posted by the OP but have two with the antenna -- same brand but with different chipsets. Need the driver disk for Win7 but not Win10. Performs approximately at the same speed as the builtin AC adapter in my recent Dell laptop. Good range.

More like 77-150mb reported by device. Actual speed even lower.

Yes, but then people what things now. And they want to feel safe knowing that they are buying from a US vendor and that they also have a whole single one year warranty for the product.

It's funny how much people are willing to pay just for speed and safety . . .
