Bought my granddaughter a DM3-1130 model while she was in college. She took it to class to do a presentation, hooked up HDMI cable, turned on and it caught on fire where the electric plugged in. Up in smoke in about two months! Never got that resolved.

People are mad at Apple for finding a software solution preventing battery fires and they are getting creamed for it.
Apple throttling the iPhone had nothing to do with preventing battery fires. It was all about getting longer use out of the charge on older batteries. Not saying it was that horrible of a thing, but it had nothing to do with safety.

Thanks for the heads up on this, OP. Fortunately, mine is not part of the recall.
