Free Google Home Mini with Arcadia Power Sign-up YMMV

-18 Deal Score
9,458 Views
Arcadia Power (alternative energy) is giving out a free Google Home Mini when you sign up and connect your utility account. I don't know too much about this service, but it looks like they provide clean energy and automatically switch you between clean energy and traditional energy to help you save money.

YMMV, based on geographic availability.

I second this. Nothing is for free and you can bet it'll cost you more than 30 dollars in the long run to stick with Arcadia's power rates.

Note that none of these companies are willing to lock in your rate beyond 60 days. After that, they'll hike up the rate how much ever they like.

I got served a Facebook ad, and was just passing along the info. Don't like it? Vote it down. That's how Slickdeals works. No need to accuse me of shilling.

Looks like they act as an agent for you and they pay your bill to th power company after you pay Arcadia.

This link seems to state that your power bill will remain the same if you choose the free plan with 50% wind power.

"The amount of your utility bill will stay the same but half of your electricity will be renewable"
Power bill stays the same [arcadiapower.com]

Seems like an interesting idea to support renewable energy with no upfront and
additional costs (if true).

Any current arcadia customers here ?

Looks like a legit company that has been around since 2013. They basically use REC's
to offset the environmental impact at NO additional cost (50%) or 1.5c per kWh (100%).

Not sure on the hate here instead of researching a bit Confused

Here are some reviews

https://www.thepennyhoarder.com/l...er-review/

http://grist.org/climate-energy/a...es-a-scam/

Putting aside the free google mini, something to consider seriously if you are interested
in keeping the planet around for your children.

Lastly, they do not seem to have any contracts.

And no, I don't work for them or get paid by them.

I'm here! They have the 50% free plan in most markets. They're a Resource energy credit company as you can't directly route power over the power grid. Been with them for over a year. You just auto pay them and they pay your regular power company.

Where is the Google home mentioned? I don't see it anywhere. Also there Supposedly are free and paid service. It won't let me pick free for some reason. Additionally, would you have to pick the paid service in order to get the Google home? If so, how long until you can legitimately cancel and still keep the Google home?
