Always use 18650 batteries for highest possible brightness. AAA batteries work as well. Just will not be as bright.

I have about 6 of these and I can say for the money they are great! I already had 1 18650 rechargeable batters and charger. They are HEAVY DUTY. If you ever had a MAG light and thought they were indestructible, they these will wow you. It seems like one company is building all the bodies because I have seen many different brands on the flashlights and they are all the same.

AAA work but they are not as strong as the 18650. Lumens will be less.

In need of a few flashlights for the house so I'm in on this. I already have the 18650 batteries for work so it's a no brainer.

Thanks OP.

That's right, they are all the same. I was stupid enough to buy one on Amazon based on excellent reviews. Paid around $60 for a model that came with a nice gift box with a small solar rechargeable keychain light and other trinkets. Long story short, the light was total crap, the reviews were obviously mostly fake or from ignorant people like myself who haven't experienced a good flashlight before this one, and I think there was more value in the packaging than the light itself. This generic model is rebranded and is all over the Internet and TV commercials. These are all the same junk throw-away lights that are marginally better than your average cellphone built-in LED flash. Don't expect any serious performance out of it, but it's better than nothing in an emergency situation. I now have some real nice EDC lights and know the difference, so do your research guys!

That would make it strategic along a ballistic trijectory!
